Plan on getting wet in the clear cold waters of the Hiwassee River. A T-shirt, shorts, or a bathing suit are recommended attire. Shoes must be worn on the river, preferably river shoes or sneakers (some type other than flip flops or slip-ons). Rocks in river can hurt your feet.
And don't forget the sun screen! Remember to bring a change of clothes and a towel for after your trip.

Do not take anything on the river that you do not want to get wet or do not want to lose (car keys!).

Glass, Styrofoam and Alcohol are prohibited on the river.
